This kindergarten phonics curriculum takes students from how speech sounds are made through every letter sound in the alphabet. Every lesson is 30 minutes and follows the same routine.

You get two versions of every lesson. The scripted version tells you exactly what to say, including what to do when a student gives the wrong answer. The quick reference version puts the lesson on one page for when you already know the routine and just need the sounds, words, and timing.

Reading and spelling happen in the same lesson. Students decode the words, then turn around and spell them.

Why you'll love it:

Every sound starts with articulation. Students learn where a sound is made in the mouth before they see the letter, which is what makes a sound wall useful instead of decorative. It also gives you something to say to the student who keeps mixing up /f/ and /v/.

Word control is strict. Students only read words built from graphemes they have already been taught, plus heart words from earlier lessons, so nothing in the practice pages asks a kindergartner to guess.
