Sort your class into reading groups in minutes with this reading intervention data tracker and small group generator. You type your assessment scores in once, and the spreadsheet tells you which skill each student needs next, then builds your groups around it.
This update adds three new versions. There are now four spreadsheets in the download, one for each assessment.
Use the CORE Phonics Survey version, the Quick Phonics Screener version, or the DIBELS 8 version if you already give one of those. If you don't give any of them, the Thrive version comes with its own 28 question assessment, so you can print it and start this week.
Please read before you buy: This is the grouping and planning tool, not the assessments. The CORE Phonics Survey, the Quick Phonics Screener, and DIBELS 8 are all published by other companies and are not included here. You need your own copy of whichever one you give, and you enter your students' scores into the matching spreadsheet. The only assessment included in this download is my own Thrive Reading Skills Assessment, which comes with the Thrive version.
All four spreadsheets work the same way. Each student lands in the group for the first skill they have not mastered yet. That means a student who cannot decode CVC words goes into a phonics group, even if they also struggled with retelling, because decoding is what they need first.

Why You'll Love It:
The cut scores are not made up. The CORE version uses CORE's own published mastery table. The Quick Phonics Screener version uses the 90 percent criterion the screener itself states. The DIBELS version reads the benchmark status straight off your report. When a coach asks where a group came from, you have an answer.
Blank never counts against a student either. If you stopped a child early or skipped a section, the tool says so instead of treating it as a wrong answer.
