This CVC word chains and ladders set includes word chains for all short vowels in the CVC pattern, 12 word ladders for CVC words, and a recording sheet for students to write the words as you say them.
Word chains and ladders help students focus on individual phonemes and the graphemes that represent each phoneme, allowing for targeted practice in a specific skill. Students must segment, blend, and manipulate phonemes.
You can do the word chains oral with students who are focusing on phonemes instead of spelling, and you can also choose to use graphemes with the recording sheet and word ladders.
