If your students are working through short vowel CVC and consonant blend words (UFLI lessons 35–41), this set of short vowel decodable stories will give them the practice they need to strengthen decoding and fluency, without introducing any new skills.
This set includes 22 printable decodable stories that review short vowels using CVC, CCVC, and CVCC word patterns. Each story focuses only on phonics patterns and high-frequency words previously taught, making it perfect for phonics-aligned reading practice.
Each story includes three comprehension questions, giving students the opportunity to practice oral or written responses after reading.
